Tehran is the capital of Iran, which has long been among the different ancient and historical cities of Iran. The city is now known to be the most important industrial and political city of Iran and has a long and sports history in our country. Tehran Province is located on the southern slopes of the Central Alborz. Tehran has many fans. The famous parks of this region are Chitgar and Javanmardan Parks. Unlike the West and the North of Tehran, the East region has sparse forests and very beautiful mountain climbing routes, it is proper for sports such as athletics and cycling and motorcycling. Historic and cultural attractions

Due to historical and cultural attractions, Tehran can be divided into three regions North, Central and South divide. In northern, because of its climates the Saadabad and Niavaran Palaces - Museum and Kooshk-e Ahmadshahi can be founded in this regioun. Saadabad Cultural Complex is a combination of buildings and palaces located at Darband Valley which is the northeast place of Tehran and it is located in an area of 300 acres. This collection contains approximately 180 acres of natural forest, springs, canals, gardens, greenhouses and streets. The building is next to Alborz Mountains from north, the Golabdareh from East, the Velenjak form West and Tajrish from South. The Jafarabad River flows in the center of this palace. Saadabad constructed in Qajar Era and it wasthe summer residence of the kings of this period. From 1299 the Pahlavi residences in this palace and a lot of new buildings was constructed in this area, it is about 18 palaces. Each one of these palaces was residence place of one of Pahlavi family members. The oldest palace of this complex is Kooshk-e Ahmadshahi (Palace) which was constructed at the beginning of his reign. The newest palace of this complex is the Leyla Pahlavi’s Palace which was belongs to the youngest daughter of King Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.

Niavaran Palace is located at the north east corner of Niavaran Garden which is located at Shahid Bahonar Sq., of Tehran. This palace was constructed based on the order of King Mohammad Reza Pahlavi in 1958 and by a pause in its construction, it was finished in 1967.In Fathali Shah’s Era, a little palace was located in the place of Niavaran Palace. In Mohammad Reza Pahlavi’s era, this small palace was destroyed and Niavaran Palace of constructed instead. The area of this construction is 9000 sqm, and it is built in 2.5 floors. At first it was only a place for hosting foreign guests but after construction it was dedicated as living place of King Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and his family.

 

The designer of this palace was Mohsen Forooghi who inspired his design from Iranian traditional architecture together with pre and after Islam art. Plaster works of the palace was down by Mr. Abdollahi, the mirror works by Mr. Aliasghar and tiling of exterior by Mr. Ebrahim Kazempour.

 

In the central area of Tehran, Tehran’s Ancient Citadel (A.K.A Arg-e Ghadim-e Tehran) can be noted that is the limits of old Tehran. And the Bazaar of Tehran with its old features is located in this area. One of the most beautiful places of this area is Golestan Palace which is a part of Tehran’s Historical Citadel which was the residential place of Qajar’s Kings and one of the ancient and beautiful places of 200 years old capital of Iran. This building was like a gem inside of the citadel. The history of The Royal Citadel which is located at the center of Tehran dates back to Safavid Era. Shah Tahmaseb I of Safavid Era (1551 – 1605) was the first king who in his way to pilgrimage Abdol Azim Hassani’s Shrine ordered to construct a 1 miles fortification around the Tehran Village. After him, Shah Abbas constructed a garden in the north of fence of Shah Tahmaseb and after a while, he constructed a long wall around it and named inside of this wall as citadel, one of the famous constructions of this citadel was Golestan Palace. Nowadays, this part of Tehran is a museum.

The other building of Tehran is the Museum Of Glass (A.K.A Moose Abgineh), which belongs to Ghavamol Saltaneh, the Minister of Ahmad Shah of Qajar. This building is constructed in 2 floors and 5 halls. The 1st and 2nd halls are located in the first floor and the other halls are located at the upper floors. In the 2nd hall, the oldest glasses, glass tubes, and pottery are located. The Engineer who designed the Museum’s showcases was an Austrian named Hans Holain. The decorations consist of inlaid frames and brick work walls and stairs in 50 different types.

 

Blaster works of the museum includes: Qavam Style and Western Style in time of Egypt’s Embassy and also the mirror works of the 2nd floor belongs to Qajar era. In fact, the Museum of Glass is the specialized museum of glass and pottery. The oldest glasses are the glass

 

decorated with the Naskh and Nasta’liq manuscript. Hall 5 named due to the cyan color glazes and it is left from the seventh and eighth centuries. The museum building is octagonal and it is located in the garden area of 7000 square meters. Innovative designs and exquisite doors and windows are kept very nice, reminiscent of the architecture of Seljuk era. It can inspire architects to design the classic style. The other cultural and historical places of Tehran are: Sardar-e-Bagh-e-Melli, pipes, named glass cylinder they have been discovered from Choghazanbil Temple and belongs to the second millennium BC. Glass and pottery of prehistoric periods located at the first floor and they are oldest pottery made from Parthian era, in the first thousand years BC. Oyster Hall named in this way because its shape resembles half-open oyster and contains Nishapur pottery of the third and fourth centuries. The Four (Golden) Hall named in this way because of golden containers of Seljuk era includes round containers that are Tehran’s Grand Bazaar, Masoudieh Building, Kooshk, Ghavamol Doule’s House, Moshirol Doleh Pirnia’s House, Mostofi Al Mamalek’s House, Golestan Palace – Museum. Tehran has the most of Palace – Museums of the country among them we can mention to: Golestan Palace – Museum, Iran Bastan Museum, Malek Museum, Coin Museum, Post Museum, 13 Contemporary Art Museum, Carpet Museum, Science Museum, Museum of Treasure, and the Geological Museum, Cinematic Town of Gazzali.

First Steps in Footbal

 About establishing the first football team in Tehran, it is worth to mention that Tehranians was not get to know football immediately, but they watched football side by side with the English people and played it for a long time. The origin of the first football team in Tehran is unknown but the year of Syed Zia and Sardar Sepah’s military coup, 1920, can be registered as the year of establishment of Tehran’s first football team. In that time a competition was held inside Mashgh Sq., known as 7 Lashgar, and some teams has played with each other for the first time. The English teams were played in these matches as well. The English living in Tehran, who, in fact, model and promote football in the city, were tested. In this tournament Club Tehran won the other teams and stands against England Team. Although the England team won the game because of its experiences, this matches had a great influence in growth of football among Tehran. After that date, some football teams were established in Tehran such as Sport Aramaneh which was famous after Club Iran Team. The initial Footbal Fields in that time were: Khayam Field located arounf Absardar, Doolat Field located after Darvazeh Doolat

, Soltani Field located around Moniries, Leng Field located around Alborz Highschool in Colleague Cross (Lenj was a foreign company) and so on.
